| About the book: While on a two-day sport fishing trip, Successful local businessman Andrew Rafkin's friends ask him to tell them about his adventures as a fisherman, when he was a teenager. This book is his true story. Out of school for the summer he decides to make some money working on his father's commercial tuna fishing boat, now unloading in Puerto Rico. Sailing up the East Coast the crew faces long days at sea and the danger of fishing. While in port they partied and back at sea they caught tuna. Two years later he took a friend's place on a four-day trip off the coast of Santa Barbara. While out to sea they get caught in a freak storm of hurricane force and spent the next 24 hours battling for their lives. |
